The use of Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs), particularly holographic lenses, represents a groundbreaking approach to capturing solar energy and integrating it into buildings.
The innovation lies in the lenses themselves, recognised for their high accuracy and unique angular and chromatic selectivity. This technology enables the selective concentration and redirection of sunlight.
But how does this benefit the innovative solutions under CPVH?
By directing light to high-efficiency photovoltaic cells and diverting unwanted infrared radiation to a separate thermal fluid, this smart design prevents overheating of the cells, increasing their longevity and performance while maximising total energy harvesting.
